Process design

Labs

This laboratory is responsible for proposing innovative processes and sequences taking into account future requirements.

It contributes to the pre-development of processes and, in this context, it:
- defines processes and sequences, the technologies to be employed
- verifies the technical feasibility of new processes and identifies key areas requiring more in-depth research
- optimizes processes from an energy and environmental point of view
- compares processes to the competition

It actively contributes to the dimensioning and launch of demonstration platforms.

Expertise 

  • Chemical engineering and process engineering: take into account matter and heat transfers, the different individual operations required to obtain a conversion process
  • Technical and economic assessment: assess the cost of converting a feed into one or more products as a function of the individual operations required and thereby evaluate the benefit of the new process developed
  • Modeling and simulation: use process simulation tools incorporating thermodynamics in order ultimately to create a digital twin of a future process and thus be in a position to evaluate its benefit, its CO2 emissions, etc.
